Youth Ministry
Our youth ministry is designed to help young people build their lives on the rock of Jesus Christ. We stress that Jesus has real answers to real life problems. For most young people life is a roller coaster of emotions, relationships, and problems. Most manage the best they can, but it is impossible without help. Jesus is the only answer. He is our rock and our shelter.
We believe that our ministry to young people is built around five purposes. Two New Testament passages, relating the words of Jesus, summarize the purposes.
Great Commandment: "Jesus said to him "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On those two commandments hang all the law and the Prophets". (Matthew 22:37-40)
Great Commission: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age". (Matthew 28:19,20)
The five purposes are found in these two passages:
- Worship "Love the Lord your God with all your heart"
- Ministry "Love your neighbor as yourself"
- Evangelism "Go and make disciples"
- Fellowship "Baptizing them"
- Discipleship "Teaching them to obey"

Do not be envious of evil men, Nor desire to be with them; For their heart devises violence, And their lips talk of troublemaking.
Proverbs 24:1-2
