Mid-summer updates

Bishop Walker has been elected as a member of the Council of 18 by the Church of God International

Malikah Brown-Henry, daughter of Maxine Brown-Henry was in a major car accident last Tuesday. She remains in the Sunnybrook Health Science Hospital, and needs our continuing prayers.

Brother Cecil Heron is in Credit Valley Hospital with a chest infection. Please pray for him. We believe the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise her up.

Sister Cynthia Salmon passed away at home on Thursday July 28. See the post for funeral details. Please pray for her family in this difficult time.

Praise silver anniversary in 2022

The year 2022 marks the 25th anniversary of the Praise community in Mississauga. Join us for celebrations from May 1 until July 3:

  • May 1: Anniversary service;
  • June 12: Appreciation service;
  • July 3: Family Day.

Sunday Service

In-person Sunday services have expanded

Praise Cathedral Worship Centre has re-opened to in-person services. Capacity has expanded. Masks remain a requirement. The weekly 11:00 a.m. service also remains live-streamed on our YouTube channel PCWC Live, and on the Praise Facebook page.

Black History Month

Black History Month 2022

The month of February each year is an opportunity for us to understand Black histories, going beyond stories of racism and slavery to spotlight Black excellence. In addition, to spotlighting excellence, we celebrate the legacy, history, and achievements that Canadians of African descent have made, and continue to make. We recognize our commitment to equal rights, opportunity, and freedom from discrimination in the GTA and across Canada. The theme for 2022’s year’s celebration was Black Health and Wellness.

On February 27, 2022 our Praise worship service recognized and celebrated our Black heritage.

Order of Distinction

Bishop Walker honoured by Jamaica

Bishop Lennox Walker, Lead Pastor at Praise Cathedral Worship Centre, was honoured by Jamaica with the Order of Distinction (rank of Officer) by Hon. Andrew Holness, Prime Minister of Jamaica. The Order took effect as of Jamaica’s Independence Day, August 6, 2020. The virtual investiture happened in October of 2021. A special presentation for Bishop Lennox Walker took place at Praise Cathedral on Sunday November 22, in our 11:00 a.m. service, attended by the Jamaica Consul General in Toronto, Mr. Lincoln Downer.
