You may be able to get vaccinated now
The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to our elderly and vulnerable. In Peel Region, we are considered one of Ontario’s ‘hot spots.’ As a result, you may be eligible to receive your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine now, as long as you are age 18 or older. Check your postal code, and see if you can reserve a time to receive the vaccine.
I believe in the science, and I believe in the Word of God. I encourage you to get vaccinated, and I am going to encourage Peel Region to use our gymnasium as a vaccination centre. It will be over. Life will return to normal. But everyone eligible to receive the vaccine does need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 – as soon as you can!
I have said clearly that I will be taking the COVID-19 vaccine. I received my first dose this past week. COVID-19 and its more transmissible variants remain a deadly threat. The vaccines are all safe. Please take whichever COVID-19 vaccine you are offered, whenever you have a chance to receive it.
I am praying that at the end of COVID-19, we are all alive to talk about it. It has been a difficult year.
Sound judgment will still be necessary
Remember, the COVID-19 vaccine does not make you immune to the virus. It makes you far, far less likely to get it. We will still need to exercise good sense and intelligence for at least the remainder of this calendar year. We must continue to wear masks; socially distance; and practice frequent hand-washing. Even as the virus pandemic situation improves, nobody wants to be the last casualty in this war.
