A vaccination reminder
The COVID-19 vaccine has been available to everyone for months. In Peel Region, we are considered one of Ontario’s ‘hot spots.’ You can receive your COVID-19 vaccine (first or second dose) any time, as long as you are age 18 or older. COVID-19 has become a disease of the unvaccinated. Just like polio, smallpox and other crippling diseases conquered by vaccines in the 20th century, we need everyone eligible to be vaccinated to turn the page on COVID-19.
I believe in the science, and I believe in the Word of God. I encourage you to get vaccinated. It can be over faster with universal vaccination. Life will return to normal. But everyone eligible to receive the vaccine does need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 – as soon as you can!
I am fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Its more transmissible variants, especially the highly-contagious delta variant, remain a deadly threat. The vaccines are all safe. Please take whichever COVID-19 vaccine you can, whenever you have a chance to receive it.
I am praying that at the end of COVID-19, we are all alive to talk about it. It has been a difficult year.
Sound judgment will still be necessary
Remember, the COVID-19 vaccine does not make you immune to the virus. It makes you far, far less likely to get it. We will still need to exercise good sense and intelligence for at least the remainder of this calendar year. We must continue to wear masks; socially distance; and practice frequent hand-washing. Even as the virus pandemic situation improves, nobody wants to be the last casualty in this war.
