COVID-19 Vaccine

Bishop Lennox Walker on the COVID-19 vaccine: “The COVID-19 vaccine is now available to our elderly and vulnerable. In Peel Region, we are considered one of Ontario’s ‘hot spots.’ As a result, you may be eligible to receive your first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine now, as long as you are age 18 or older. Check your postal code, and see if you can reserve a time to receive the vaccine. I have said clearly that I will be taking the vaccine. COVID-19 and its more transmissible variants remain a deadly threat. I believe in the science, and I believe in the Word of God. I encourage you to get vaccinated, and I am going to encourage Peel Region to use our gymnasium as a vaccination centre.”

Christmas 2020

We will remain apart as a congregation for a while longer, even as we come closer together in spirit. We will remain resolute and tenacious, passing our courage and determination to those within both our personal and virtual orbits. Mostly, we will do as God would have us do: survive first and foremost; and emerge from this trial stronger than we were when we began, with a faith in God’s strength and mercy forged in the fire of crisis. Be strong, Praise. Though the salvation of modern science is in sight, this long night of the pandemic will be at its most dangerous just before the dawn of the return to life in the middle of 2021.

Summer 2020

Our Provincial Government has announced plans in Phase 2 of reopening for churches to be able to gather again. However, this reopening must be approached with all the precautionary measures advised by the public health authorities.

As your Pastor, I am not only called to feed my sheep, but I am also called to protect them. Therefore, I am ensuring that all health and safety protocols and resources are in place for us to safely gather for worship. The health and well-being of all our members and visitors is my foremost concern and number one priority currently.

Week of June 7

We have seen what prejudice, discrimination or hatred directed at someone because of colour, ethnicity, or national origin can lead to. Racism is an attack on the image of God that has been given to each of us by the Maker. PCWC Corona Virus watch

People are looking to their work place, their governments, their institutions, and yes, their church for help and guidance in getting through Canada’s Corona Virus crisis of caution. Web site progress

On a typical Sunday, about 100 people are looking at our new Praise web site. Most weekdays, about 25 or so people view it. As the new Praise web site is visible during its development, you might want to know how it is coming together. Garfield Wilson is leading the site’s development, along with Pastor Mirando Lal. Our good friend and former MPP, Bob Delaney, is helping with planning and technical aspects.
