Health and Wellness
A group of health care professionals, allied health workers and other health conscious individuals interested in empowering people to make healthy life changing and life sustaining choices. We have a genuine concern for the physical, mental and spiritual well being of our church members and our community at large.
Our goal is to make PCWC the “healthiest and most well informed church” by providing ongoing education through: small group sessions; interactive seminars; pamphlets and newsletters while encouraging self-reflection to help change and/or modify existing unhealthy lifestyle habits.
Previous empowering community activities include: One MATCH Bone marrow registration, Buy-A-Net malaria prevention program in Uganda; Annual Health & Wellness Expo “Changing Health Through Knowledge”; CPR/Emergency First Aid class and Flu clinics.
Stay tuned for more health restoring events to come!!! Please contact our leaders Allison Tyrrell, Pauline Richardson
Health Tips with Mark
The average resting heart rate is between 70 - 75 beats per minute, but heart rates 10 beats above or below that average are not uncommon. However, if your heart rate is 90+ bpm, you should consider adding cardio workouts to your weekly routine. For more health and fitness tips, email Mark Steele
