Meet the Bishop
Bishop Lennox DaCosta Walker, the son of Sydney and Violet Walker was born in beautiful Clarendon, Jamaica. He is a radical and unconventional speaker who is known for his dynamic, life changing and inspirational sermons. Bishop Walker's vision extends well beyond the church as he seeks to advance the Kingdom by empowering God's people. If you associate with Bishop Walker long enough, you will realize his deep rooted passion for the lives of youths. Having run away from home during his teens, he understands what it is to try and rush life. After a near death and life altering incident, he gave his life to the Lord on August 25, 1976. His adolescent experience gives him a first hand perspective of the destruction of sin but also knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ. That being said, he is vigilant in educating youth and empowering them to make positive decisions in their lives.
Bishop Walker has an atypical and impressive educational background. At age fourteen he was unable to read. In spite of these circumstances he educated himself to a university entrance level. He is a graduate of Bethel Bible College in St. Mary, Jamaica; he studied at the European Theological Seminary via correspondence; and is in the process of completing his Masters of Divinity at Tyndale University and Seminary.
As a minister of the Church of God (C.O.G.) in Jamaica, Bishop Walker has served as the pastor for the West Prospect New Testament C.O.G and the Old Harbour New Testament C.O.G. Upon arrival to Canada, he initially served as the Assistant Pastor and Assistant Superintendent at Redemption International Faith Ministries. He later went on to pastor the East Toronto C.O.G. and presently pastors Praise Cathedral Worship Centre in Mississauga, Ontario; his posting for the past ten years. Alongside his pastoral duties, he serves as the District Overseer and the Coordinator for the M.I.P. program in Eastern Canada. He also serves on the National Executive Council for Canada and the National Pastor's Advisory Council in Cleveland, Tennessee.
Bishop Walker has traveled to many destinations around the world including England, Guyana and various West Indian Islands, Israel, Palestine, Uganda and all over the United States and Canada. He is a frequent guest speaker in churches, crusades and conferences for various denominations.
Bishop Walker presently resides in the city of Mississauga. He has a lovely wife (Dorett) of twenty five years and has one daughter and three sons (Shawn, Damar, Shamar and Lamar). His goal for the future is to leave a dynamic spiritual and physical legacy that will extend beyond the church and into education and the economy as a whole.
